Scott Sherwood - About The Trio

Scott Sherwood Photo

Scott's current trio enlists the exceptional talents of bassist Mike Nunno and drummer Paul Hannah. Scott first met Paul on a gig in Austin, Texas. Paul moved to Connecticut shortly after that meeting, but his playing made a big impression on Scott. Later, when Scott moved to the East Coast, he contacted Paul looking to form a new trio. Paul suggested Mike Nunno and the trio was born.

Paul Hannhah was born and raised in a musical family in Las Vegas, Nevada. He moved to the East Coast to attend The New England Conservatory of Music, where he was a student of Vic Firth. After earning a Bachelor's degree with Distinction in Performance, Paul attended the Hartt School as a student of Alexander Lepak. At Hartt, he was awarded the prestigious Artist Diploma. Upon leaving school, Paul toured the US and Canada with Stephen Sondheim's "Into the Woods" and later as the drummer for the national tour of "Cats." In addition, Paul has performed throughout England, France, and the former Soviet Union.

Paul endorses Vic Firth sticks.

Mike Nunno is a native of Milford, Connecticut. He began playing the bass in high school and almost immediately was working steadily. At age nineteen, he opened Milford Music Studio. In addition to performing in the Scott Sherwood Trio, Mike performs throughout Connecticut and New York as a freelance musician. He has toured extensively with such notables as guitarist Sonny Sharrock and blues legends Phil Guy and Johnny Rawls.
